About The Artist

Matthew Humble is a formally trained, certified, freelance makeup artist, originally from Seattle, WA, and based in Las Vegas, NV. He has a thirst for knowledge and a flair for the dramatic. He began his interest in movies at an early age and was particularly fond of monster movies and the horror genre. He was fascinated by the transformation that the actors and actresses went through to become the creatures and characters seen on film. He attended Bellevue College at the early age of 16 by qualifying for the running start program. His interest in makeup only grew throughout the years as he became a self-taught special effects makeup artist.

Inspired by the darker side of things, he is constantly drawing and sketching creatures and characters and is never without a sketch pad or two. He worked retail and customer service positions most of his adult life, till he finally ended up at the makeup counter of Champion party supply. While there, he gleaned as much information as he could about the various products and brands they carried. He decided to turn his passion into a career by moving across state lines and attending the L Makeup Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada. He pursued a double major and completed both the beauty and advanced special effects courses. While in school, he was drawn to Avant Garde, Editorial, Fantasy, Body Paint, Special Effects and Airbrush. He graduated with perfect attendance as class valedictorian and pursued a makeup retail position to increase his product knowledge. He is currently working as a freelance MUA.

Matthew looks forward to his continuing education. He hopes to one day see one of his creatures on the big screen.
